The Hotel Sacro Cuore is a charming and historic property located in one of the most beautiful and scenic spots in the city of Perugia, ideal for a stay full of culture, art and relaxation, just 10 minutes from the historic centre.
From the rooms it is possible to enjoy an enchanting view of the valley below or of the centuries-old park surrounding the building.
We are located in an area that ensures silence and tranquillity, an oasis of peace, but which also allows easy access to other Umbrian towns.
We offer solutions for both individual and group stays: the excellent location and attention to our guests are a guarantee of a pleasant stay in our hotel.
We have ample free parking for your car.
We provide all our customers with a free taxi call service and organisation of transfers to and from the airport, train station or other destinations.
To reach the city centre by public transport, the bus stop is about 300 metres walk from our hotel.
A number of games for children are available in the park.
We organise various types of experiences on request to enrich your holiday in Umbria: guided tours of the region’s main museums, monuments and tourist sites, urban trekking in the city centre, wine tastings in Umbria’s best wine cellars, and vineyard tours by carriage.
For your days exploring Umbria, we can organise a convenient and delicious packed lunch on request.
The property includes the Main Villa, the Outbuilding and about two hectares of green space with a forest and a park with centuries-old pine trees.
In front of the hotel entrance is a beautiful terrace where you can admire the Umbrian valley stretching from Assisi to Torgiano.
A simple but cosy environment where you can find familiar and spontaneous hospitality.
On 26 October 1986, Pope John Paul II was a guest at our hotel, on the occasion of his pastoral visit to Perugia, prior to the Interreligious Meeting in Assisi: a historic event because, for the first time, the leaders of the world’s great religions met to dialogue and pray for peace.
We wanted to pay tribute and celebrate that visit with a dedicated room that is now available to our guests: the Deluxe Room, the only one with a panoramic balcony, where the Pastoral that the Pontiff gave to the Sacro Cuore is still kept.
“I like it here, I like it a lot!” these were the words spoken by the Pontiff during his stay at the Sacro Cuore, and so as not to forget them, we have engraved them on a plaque affixed to the external walls of the facility.
We house a private chapel for the exclusive use of our guests: a place of prayer that can be used for private celebrations or individual prayer times.
The Hotel Sacro Cuore is also an excellent solution for anyone needing to stay in Perugia for business purposes or as a venue for meetings and conferences, both because of its strategic location and the services on offer.
We have 6 technologically-equipped meeting rooms with natural light, so that various types of meetings can be held.
The Hotel Sacro Cuore in Perugia was built in the 19th century mansion that belonged to the Monti’s, a noble and illustrious Perugian family.
In 1933, it was purchased by His Excellency Monsignor Rosa, who renamed it “la Casa del Sacro Cuore” (‘the House of the Sacred Heart), later donating it to the Diocese of Perugia.
“That is why the villa has the reputation of being one of the best in the surroundings of Perugia, for being little more than 3 km from the city […] and because it is set on a parapet over the beautiful Tiber valley, enjoying the view of many towns, villages and cities such as Assisi, Spello, Trevi, Foligno, Todi.

We gladly welcome medium and small four-legged friends in our rooms, but for the well-being of all guests we have certain precautions to be observed: they are not allowed in the common areas while they are allowed to use the large outdoor areas as long as they are kept on a leash.
